Washing machine fire

Most people don’t think of a fire started by a washing machine, but that is exactly what happened for this customer.  In the picture on the left you can clearly see the scorched marks on the wall and floor.  It doesn’t look to bad, and SERVPRO of Meridian hoped that our cleaning technicians would be able to clean it, but unfortunately, we had to remove the walls.  In some situations, removing the drywall and insulation is the only way to remove the burnt, or scorched smell from the home.   Luckily, for this customer, the scorched area was confined to just where the washing machine was sitting, making for a quick and easy repair.
